I Tired the Mackeeper demo and Would like to remove it from my computer.
I can't find this anywhere.
a detailed how-to would be much appreciated.
Thank you
found it.. was helper.app in /home/library
seriously, you should buildin an uninstaller for your app.
Thank you for your reports! As you know, there is no Uninstaller on Mac except for MacKeeper's Wise Uninstaller. We are going to add uninstall possibility for MacKeeper in the nearest future! But now when you try to completely uninstall Mackeeper by moving it to the Trash, all the processes started with MacKeeper are still working. That's why you keep on receiving all these alerts and cannot delete it. You just have to restart your Mac and then empty the Trash! Everything should turn out well!
In the meantime, you can use AppCleaner: http://www.freemacsoft.net/AppCleaner/. It'll work until MacKeeper uninstall is implemented.
Yes, I have a lame signature.
Hello why not try out the demo of clean my mac for this purpose it will do this.
I love apple but its a crazy thing they have no uninstall which seems the most basic thing. I know their answer is that dragging to the trash is all it needs but I guess they have never tried to uninstall logic pro owch!
Yes, sbangs, its hard to work without uninstaller. That's why we working on our own uninstaller to simply remove MacKeeper if its needed.
Great thanks for the info
You are always welcome
though hope you will never have a desire to remove MacKeeper

Ok, glad to know you solved the problem. Also glad to inform, that from next version MK will propose to do full uninstall, when you move it to trash.
That does not solve the problem for me. As soon as reboot, I get a slightly different message filling up my logs.
I am no longer considering purchasing this product.

What do you get now out of curiosity?
Would you be so kind to provide us with the more detailed info about the problem you had ? maybe with a screenshot of what you got after Mac's rebooting so that we can find out what went wrong.... apply to support@zeobit.com and thank you in advance

Please note that you should remove MacKeeper login from Keychain Access by you self.

It works!!!!
Okay guys, I got the answer for "How to Uninstall MacKeeper properly." I too wanted to remove this app. I found the Antivirus app "calls home" way too often and it never would quit? At first I tried to drop in trash and empty, but since its constantly running I knew it wouldn't die easily. It asks you if you still want to delete it because theres still other things running. Basicly it uses a bunch of plugins. If you haven't deleted it yet continue below. If you already tried to delete like me, the app will have a broken icon, continue--your fine.
Heres how to delete it properly:
1. "Get Info" on MacKeeper Application. (see attached image below)
2. Next, Check the - or Subtract button for ALL the Plugins. These are what's keeping the app running!
A warning will mention the app won't run anymore. Say ok and it will send the plugin to the Trash--but don't delete yet.
3. After you put all 7 plugins in the Trash, the MacKeeper icon should disappear from the Menu bar as it can't run without the plugins.
*Ironically theres a uninstaller plugin that isn't being used?
4. Trash any other MacKeeper files if you haven't already.
NOW EMPTY the Trash.
There should be no Antivirus or MacHelper app running in the Activity Monitor. Your Welcome!
Shouldn't I get a FREE MacKeeper when they fix this thing?
I'd be curious to try out all the features, but I'm not ready to buy it.
I dont get what the trouble is here guys other people have been able to delete without issue. Its better to just contact customer care here if your stuck.
Also all these posts look like they are written by the same person (I may be wrong of course)
I installed the latest MacKeeper app then dragged it to the trash, click one answer, that will then activate the uninstall window, click that. When you empty the trash you have to hold down the option key first to get it to empty. That option key feature has been on all Macintosh systems since system 7.

Guys, this problem is already solved - MacKeeper has its own uninstaller, that completely removes the app from the computer, so in case you need it, here are the detailed instructions:

I tried uninstalling my Mackeeper following the steps in the link above. I got stuck on step 5-6. Apparently, after I selected one of the choices and even typed in a comment, the button "Uninstall MacKeeper" remained 'un-clickable'. There was no way to move forward so I had to shut down my Mac and empty my trash. MacKeeper is still running as evidenced by my console.

I contacted live chat - no help.
I called the 1-888 number - on hold for 15 minutes then they hung up
I e-mailed support - no response yet.
I have removed everything that SpotLight can find with "MacKeeper".
I am getting (every 10 seconds) a Console message of the form:
7/20/12 14:25:01 com.apple.launchd.peruser.501[134] (com.zeobit.MacKeeper.Helper[940]) posix_spawn("/Applications/MacKeeper.app/Contents/Resources/MacKeeper Helper.app/Contents/MacOS/MacKeeper Helper", ...): No such file or directory

(com.zeobit.MacKeeper.Helper[940]) Exited with exit code: 1
7/20/12 14:25:01 com.apple.launchd.peruser.501[134] (com.zeobit.MacKeeper.Helper) Throttling respawn: Will start in 10 seconds
